Whitbread Round the World Race 1985-86: The Whitbread Round the World Race of 1985-86 was a mult-person sailing race made up of 15 yachts, sailing 4 legs, with no in-port races. Fifteen boats started out from Southampton on 28 September 1985 for the around-the-world race. The yacht Drum was owned by the pop star Simon Le Bon, who was onboard for the finish.
