Understanding how a Manufactured Crisis is used to gain power: There are many examples of gaining power by manufacturing an artificial crisis by destabilizing an existing, working system. Once the system has been broken, it is then easier to replace it with a new system that benefits the instigator of the initial, artificial problem they created in the first place.

In summary, the steps are:

  1. Deliberate Destabilization: The instigator intentionally disrupts a functioning system or process.
  2. Crisis Declaration: Emphasizing or exaggerating the problems resulting from the disruption. A chance to be a hero, too! "You are in danger, but I will find a solution!"
  3. Proposed Solution: Offering a 'new' solution that also serves the interests of the instigator.
